Bill has been fly fishing for nearly 50 years, and has tied flies for over 40 years. Bill guides on the Upper Sacramento River, McCloud River, Rubicon, Lower American River and the North Yuba River. He has a home on the Upper Sacramento River in Dunsmuir, Ca. as well as on in Foresthill, Ca. near Auburn, Ca. Bill is a master fly tyer who ties at many fly fishing shows. He has created many original fly designs that are known as "fish catchers". Including October Caddis imitations such as Bill's Stick Caddis. Bill also works part time at Kiene's Fly Shop and teachers fly fishing and fly tying at Sierra Community College. Bill has authored a number of articles for California Fly Fisher magazine on a variety of topics. He was a founding member of Granite Bay Flycasters in 1985 and has been club president twice. Bill teachers fly tying classes for the club. Bill routinely conducts clinics on nymphing and pocket water fishing for
groups, clubs, shops and others. He presents programs at Northern California Fly Fishing Clubs, concentrating on pocket water nymphing techniques.
