Body Materials

Mohair

It took years to find a premium grade of kid mohair, but now we have an incredible source, where we can buy large quantities of pure white mohair and we dye it in our fabulous colors.  This product is great for stonefly bodies, leech patterns and many other fish catching patterns.

Shuck

We gave this body material the name "shuck" because in the water it looks very real, like a larva case.  It has become very popular, over half of our flies are tied with this great material and it dresses like chenille.  Long Shuck Size 2-8, Short Shuck Size 10-14

Seal Sub Dubbing

Our Seal Sub Dubbing is hard to distinguish from real seal.  It picks up light and has a glow in the water like real seal.  It absorbs water and sinks quite rapidly.  A lot of tiers have discovered our dubbing and except no substitutes.  Our seal sub is 100% African goat fur and it dubs beautifully.  It is well know in Denny Rickard's seal bugger fly.  Our seal sub comes in a generous quantity and will tie dozens of dubbed flies.

Flies

Wiggle Tails Nymphs

These are the flies that made J.Fair Famous.  Jay fishes these flies on Eagle Lake, Davis Lake and many other lakes.  These are proven fish catchers!

Wiggle Tail 8 Pack Flies

This package comes with all eight fish catching Wiggle Tail Flies.  This is an outstanding value and great gift idea.

Gray's TS Bugger

This is the pattern that Lincoln Gray has fished on Lake Almanor.  This pattern is a great fish producer.  The TS stands for "Trout Special"

Marabou

Premium Marabou

As you know, marabou comes from turkeys, these birds are now being grown to 25 pounds in as little as twelve weeks.  This short growing time does not allow the marabou feathers to mature, giving us tyers an undesirable short marabou feather.  However, we are able to purchase at a premium price, top grade marabou.  Our marabou plumes are between 6" to 8" in length.  Our marabou is carefully selected for dying and they are painstakingly hand dyed in our famous colors.

Grizzly Marabou

Grizzly marabou is from the hind end of a chicken.  It is getting harder and harder to get growers to harvest this area.  Therefore, the grizzly marabou that we do get is in very high demand and cost is a premium.  This material however, is worth it's weight in gold.  This marabou not only gives the life like action that we look for in the water, but the barring segmented looks natural.

Feathers

Nymph Saddle & Half Nymph Saddles-Micro Barb

When we look at a grizzly nymph saddle, we determine what would be the best color to dye it.  We have a grower who saves his very best birds for us.  All of our nymph saddles are graded.  Most growers have grades of 1, 2, 3 and 4.  Most are graded by the quantity of feathers, length of feathers and sizes that can be tied.  We try very hard to offer the best saddles from genetically grown birds to dye in our famous colors.  Each saddle will produce hundreds of flies.

Ultra Premium & Premium Bugger Hackle

Premium Schlappen

Schlappen hackle are those very soft and webbed feathers that are found on a rooster's tail.  These are a must for tying nymphs.  They literally breath in the water and are the best nymph hackle available!  They are extremely limited in quantity, as it takes two to three and sometimes for roosters to make one package.  This hackle will yield #4-#14 sized flies.  We can never seem to get enough to meet the demand, but they are absolutely worth waiting for.  Please do not confuse the Chinese Schlappen with our hybrid Schlappen, as there is no comparison.  They are hand dyed in our famous J.Fair colors.  Remember, they are in very limit quantity
